The Hope Charity very kindly donated a six-berth caravan to Deafblind UK. It is situated at Hopton Holiday Village, near Great Yarmouth and is available to rent as holiday accommodation.
Having been through some refurbishment last Spring, the caravan has already provided a welcome break for many dual sensory impaired people and their carers.
With the beach nearby and plenty of activities on-site, this holiday destination has already proven therapeutic and enabled dual sensory impaired people to experience independent mobility in a relaxing environment. This opportunity stimulates interaction with others, creates new memories and opens doors to future rehabilitation and counselling if needed.
The camp is within a short bus ride of Great Yarmouth and has full amenities – club house, restaurant, launderette, swimming pool. Each holidaymaker is responsible for paying their own gas and electricity bill for the duration of their stay and this will be invoiced in arrears.
The caravan is seven years old and in a very good condition. It sleeps up to six people – the layout is two bedrooms (one double and one twin) with a living area that also sleeps two. There is a bathroom including toilet and a kitchen. Facilities include a television and DVD player.
Bookings are available for weekends as well as by the week or fortnight, depending on availability.
