The Weather Lottery
Deafblind UK has recently teamed up with The Weather Lottery to give you the chance to win one of many cash prizes and raise much needed funds for our charity. By signing up today and choosing Deafblind UK as your chosen charity, you really can make a difference to the services we can provide this year.
The Weather Lottery is a game based on the Fahrenheit temperatures recorded in six locations – Corfu, Tenerife, Istanbul, Innsbruck, Edinburgh and Stockholm. You simply choose six single numbers from 0-9, guessing the end digit of the recorded temperature on each day in the six locations.
Match 3 numbers – win £2
Match 4 numbers – win £20
Match 5 numbers – win £200
Match 6 numbers – win £10,000
As well as being fun, it’s also really easy to play - you don’t even have to check your numbers because The Weather Lottery check the numbers for you every day! Prizes are paid automatically and winning cheques posted directly to your home.
If you are interested, please click on the logo above and sign up online today! If you’d prefer to fill in a paper form, please email supportus@deafblind.org.uk to request one, remembering to include your name and address.
Please help by telling your friends and family about The Weather Lottery and ask them to choose Deafblind UK as their charity to support.
Buy a copy of Jane Stapleton's Autobiography An inspirational 56-year-old deafblind woman will be signing copies of her autobiography, entitled ‘My Life in their Hands’, at the Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping Centre, White Rose Way, Doncaster on Saturday 21st April from 10am until 3pm.
Jane Stapleton, from Skellow, lost her sight following surgery to remove a brain tumour when she was just 17 years old. Several years after this, Jane also lost her hearing after a medical complication relating to the removed tumour.
From a humble mining upbringing in the West Riding of Yorkshire, Jane has gone on to achieve so much after the devastating blow of losing both her sight and hearing and has already inspired many people through writing a book about her life, using a specially adapted PC. This has been possible because of a technical equipment grant Jane received from the charity Deafblind UK, of which she is a member. Kind-hearted Jane eventually saved the money herself and later returned the grant to Deafblind UK, towards someone else receiving vital support.
If you would like the chance to meet Jane or buy a signed copy of ‘My Life in their Hands’, you’ll find her at the Lakeside Shopping Centre on Saturday.
Alternatively, you can buy a copy of the book directly from Deafblind UK. Just call Angela Hawkswell on 01733 358100 or email supportus@deafblind.org.uk for more details or send a cheque made payable to Deafblind UK for £6.99 (includes £1 for P&P) to:
Deafblind UK,
Cygnet Road,
Hampton,

PE7 8FD.
Please include your name and address and write ‘My Life in their Hands’ on the reverse of the cheque.
