Organising Your Own Event

Do your own fundraising

Deafblind UK relies on the energy and tireless enthusiasm of fundraisers at work, school and in the community to continue our work.

You can make a difference to the lives of deafblind people by raising vital funds for Deafblind UK. You may already know what fundraising you’d like to do, in which case don’t delay, go ahead and request ‘Your Fundraising Guide’ for everything you need to get started.

Fundraise at work

Fundraising at work with your colleagues can be easy to organise and great for team morale. Fundraising can be fun - you could hold a dress down or dress up day, raffle, quiz, sponsored walk, office party, Big Summer Picnic etc. You could even nominate Deafblind UK as your charity of the year.

Fundraise at school or college

Fundraising within your school or college can be great fun! There are loads of fun ideas – you could hold a sponsored hula hoop competition, non-uniform day, disco, car boot sale, talent night and so much more.

Your Own Personal Event

You may have a personal interest such as bowling, playing Bridge or aerobics which you could use to help you organise your own fundraising event. It could be a sponsored event or an event for which you sell tickets.

Fundraise at home

There are so many ideas that won’t take long to organise - you could have a coffee morning, BBQ, Big Summer Picnic with friends, Safari Dinner or maybe even a garage sale.

Join an existing event

Look for an existing event that you can attach a fundraising angle to. Add a ticket raffle, tombola or maybe an auction to an event where you know there will be plenty of people.
