
Dr Rosemary Sandford - Chair
Rosemary is both sight and hearing impaired and a wheelchair user. Rosemary has been a Trustee of Deafblind UK for over ten years and recently took up the post of Chair. She has been Editor of Open Hand, Deafblind UK's membership magazine, for six years.
Rosemary is studying for a Creative Writing PhD at Newcastle University and researching into the work of the deafblind poet Jack Clemo.
David Evans - Vice Chair
David joined the Board in 2003. He represents Deafblind UK on a number of committees including the RNIB Assembly, the DFT stakeholder group on concessionary travel and Guide Dog's shared streets scheme. He is also co-chairman of the Essex Deafblind Planning Team.
Sarah Arnull - Henry MBE
Sarah joined the Board in 2001. Sarah has worked for Torch Trust for the Blind, Haringey and Islington Councils and as a Technical Officer for Hillingdon Social Services. In 1997 Sarah was awarded the MBE for services to the mobility of blind and partially sighted people. Sarah achieved an Honours degree in 2000 in Social Science. She has been a guide dog owner since 1980 and is currently working her 5th dog.
Peter Skivington MBE
Peter joined the Board of Trustees in 1996. Peter gained the MBE for services to deafblind people in Wales where he campaigned for better conditions and communicator-guide services. Peter continues to visit deafblind people in Wales and offers them peer support despite having moved to Peterborough. Peter is registered blind and is a hearing aid user. He is a keen gardener and bowler.
Gordon Lister
Gordon joined Deafblind UK's Board in 2008. Having run a family business, worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors and held a succession of Chief Executive roles, Gordon brings a range of skills, knowledge and experience to the Board. Gordon’s experience in the disability field covers a period of 9 years as Chief Executive of the Papworth Trust. He chaired the umbrella Voluntary Organisations Disability Group for a period of 3 years.
