Become one of our Trustees

Our Board of Trustees are responsible for the general control and management of the administration of the charity.

To ensure the charity is governed effectively it is essential that the trustee’s, as a group, have a range of key skills and experience.

We have identified key areas where we wish to strengthen and develop our Board and we are therefore keen to recruit a Treasurer and other new trustees with the following specific skills:

Finance
Business Development
HR
Law
Fundraising

Our Board is predominantly made up of people who are deafblind or have a combined sight and hearing loss. We recognise the unique perspective that this gives the charity and we are committed to ensuring that this balance remains. However, we recognise that it is essential for the charity that we have a skilled and effective board so where we cannot recruit deafblind people with the required expertise in a specific area we will invite sighted hearing people, who have an interest in, knowledge of or commitment to supporting those with deafblindness, to join the board.

If you have skills in any of the areas listed above please download and complete a Trustee Application form and Skills Audit Form or alternatively contact lynn.masson@deafblind.org.uk or telephone Lynn or 01733 358100.
